Description

Job Description:

This Sr. UX Designer would need to have considerable experience working on complex web-based SaaS applications (not mobile apps); our products serve cybersecurity domain experts/SMEs.  We have multiple interconnected products, so collaboration & communications skills, as well as some level of project management are super important, in addition to being able to follow design system guidelines (Carbon Black has our own design system, we do not use VMware’s Clarity system) and deliver detailed, high quality, mid-fidelity designs.

This is strictly UX for complex enterprise-level software product. Our in-house designers work with UI Engineers, they do not touch code.  We are not looking for UI devs or UI engineers of any stripe, nor are we looking for website design, graphic design, UI design, or those who have only worked on commercial web applications/sites, or who have only designed for mobile.

Skills needed:

  • Information Architecture
  • Interaction Design
  • Workflow creation/generation/iteration
  • Low to mid-fidelity wireframes (NOT mockups, comps, or high-fidelity work)
  • Expertise in design facilitation; familiarity with a variety of research techniques
  • UX discovery to flesh out minimally defined goals (leading workshops, design jams with PM, Eng, UX, internal SMEs)
  • Collaborate with PMs, UI Engineers, Technical Product Managers, BE engineers, architects, and other members of the UX team
  • Negotiate/define scope of initiatives and manage own schedule accordingly
  • Juggle multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on the cybersecurity domain, though expertise is not required
