Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of technical specialists in the execution of VMware deploy/upgrade/patching projects. 
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing project expectations, timelines, and technical deliverables. 
Prepare VCF upgrade and migration strategies and designs for migration with help of senior SR engineers. 
Lead and execute VCF upgradations, which includes planning, pre tasks, communication, upgrade, post upgrade validation, functional and performance testing and executing cutover. 
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and timely project updates. 
Prepare and share clear status reports to client and other relevant stakeholders internally and externally in a timely manner 
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects. 
Conduct internal stakeholder’s alignment meeting including PMs, Accelerators, TAMs, SAMs, SMEs and SREs (Internal) before every implement/upgrade/patching engagement. 
Ensure proper closure procedure is followed for every engagement with timely update to client, external and internal stakeholders and relevant documentation and quality controls are met. 
Conduct client meetings, presentations, and demos to discuss technical scope, timelines, and potential roadblocks. 
Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting team building and knowledge sharing. 
Develop and manage shift rosters to ensure optimal team coverage for client support. 
Manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. 
Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and best practices for VMware deployments. 
Incorporate risk mitigation strategies and backout failover planning. 
Usage and understanding of various VMware tools/features, identify the gaps and implement the changes as needed. 
Ensure the Client application services is kept operational with high availability and minimal downtime. 
Design and implement backup strategies before performing of VCF implement, upgrade, patching on all relevant environment 
Work with respective client Application owners/groups to ensure proper security standards are being followed during the upgrade/migrate engagements. 
Develop and maintain documentation on technical processes, known error database 
Track training progress and report training needs for self and that of the team members on a regular basis

RequirementsSkills Requirement

Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience in managing and delivering IT infrastructure projects 
5 years of relevant project management experience in infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud domain 
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to work in international clients and local stakeholders at all levels and build strong client relationship 
Bachelor or masters level degree in engineering, IT, Computer science or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications 
Working knowledge of data center concepts including servers, storage, and networking. 
Excellent Analytical and Debugging skills for virtualization and operating systems layers 
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue-management skills in a multi-platform environment 
Demonstrated experience interpreting project requirements and working with clients to develop customized solutions. 
Proven project management skills including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. 
Experience with shift rostering and resource allocation. 
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. 
Experience in using service desk tools like ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence etc

Skills desired

Experience with designing and deploying VMware upgrade/migrate strategies in large hybrid cloud and virtualized environment. 
Good experience in troubleshooting VMware management and performance issues. 
Strong understanding and experience in Architecture and deployment of VMware technologies like vSAN, NSX-t, vRealize, Aria etc 
Strong in Linux and Windows basic administration and performance analysis tasks 
Valid VMware VCP certification a plus 
Valid Linux Certification is a plus 
Experience of setting up, upgrading or working on VMware Cloud Foundation environment is a plus
