Job Description:

The Wi-Fi Engineer will be responsible for:

Wi-Fi extender product testing and defect validation

Thorough knowledge and understanding of 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax) standards and specs

Familiarity with IoT testing(Zigbee, Bluetooth, Thread, etc.)

Inter-Op testing(CE, CPE, etc.)

Rate vs orientation, Rate vs. Range, performance tests using RF isolation chambers

Work with traffic Generators( iGen, Ixia Chariot, iPerf, etc.)

Enhanced Wi-Fi feature testing

Need for a product lead who has the ability to present and communicate test data (written and 

verbally) to exec level management 

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• 6+ years of technical experience directly working with Wi-Fi in computer architecture and data communications.

• Experience with Wireless technology testing which includes Wireless AP’s, Routers, Wireless extenders & Wireless standards (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax) 

• Knowledge of real-world wireless environments. 

• Experience working with TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, Switching. 

• Familiarity with industry standard Wi-Fi test tools like Veriwave, IXIA Chariot and packet debuggers like Wireshark, Omnipeek and Savius. 

• Preferable knowledge in secondary home networking technologies such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, MoCA, and Ethernet in a DOCSIS environment.

• Experience  of wi-fi extenders.

• Comfortable in some scripting language of choice 

• Must be able to work independently 

• Excellent Debugging skills & experience troubleshooting 

• Working knowledge of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for analysis, and automation Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently driving multiple projects across many teams
