Required Technical Skill Set:
- Deep understanding of IEEE 802.11 standards (a,b,g), 802.1x, Wi-Fi
- Knowledge of WLAN Security in the areas of authentication, encryption, IDS/IPS using Radius, AAA authentication, EAP, LEAP, PEAP, PSK
- WEP encryption (Wired Equivalent Privacy, PA (Wi-Fi Protocol Access), WPA2
- Experience with WLSM, WiSM, WCS etc.
- Must have in-depth technical knowledge in the following areas:
- Cisco AirOS Wireless LAN Controllers, IOS-XE Wireless LAN Controllers, IOS-XE Catalyst Wireless LAN Controllers, and Embedded Wireless LAN Controllers
- Cisco Wireless Access Points: IOS Access Points
- Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireless Mobility Services: MSE, CMX, DNA Spaces, DNA Center (DNAC), BLE technology, ISE integration, and IoT technology
- Hands-on with packet level troubleshooting such Over-the-air captures, Span captures using tools such as Wireshark etc
- Ability to diagnose and analyze issues through debugs and logs
- Hands on experience with Air magnet and Ekahau products for site surveys, Wi-Fi and spectrum analysis
- Strong understanding on Cisco DNAC & ISE infrastructure
- Switching Models Cisco 6500/6900, Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K, VPC, FEX, VDC, Cisco VSS, Cisco Catalyst 4500, 3800, 3500 2900
- Strong knowledge in Switching technologies - STP, Trunking, Ether channel, HSRP, VRRP, LACP, PaGP
Must-Have
- CCNA/CWNA Wireless Certified
- Experience in Cisco Wireless LAN Configuration.
- Configuration of Light Weight Access Point Solutions, including Clean Air, AVC/QoS.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Wireless networking and operational practices to develop the technical strategy used on existing complex network to maintain and design Next Generation Wireless (Wifi6) integrating with ISE and Cisco DNAC.
- Highly skilled in Wireless Architecture & Capabilities this includes the Wifi6 deployments integrating with DNAC & ISE.
- Experience in designing high-density AP and client deployments with a very good understanding of plant floor, which is extremely important for Re-designing and uplifting the network to support implementation of AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles).
- Experience in network (Route/Switch) engineering.
- Experience in wireless, security engineering.
- Strong working knowledge installing, configuring, and supporting Cisco Router/Switch and Wireless LAN Hardware products.
- Determine key dependencies, technical process, and people with a view to understand any challenges and to removing any obstacles.
- Guest access ISE guest access
- Flex Connect Experience on a large scale
- DNAC Infrastructure experience a must.
- Cisco ISE experience to understand how ISE works and integrates into wireless
- Knowledge of AAA protocols RADIUS and experience testing applications using these protocols.
Role Descriptions
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Performs direct, hands-on implementation (installation, configuration, test, and production turnover) for Wireless Infrastructure.
- Identify improvements to processes, workflows, standards, and tools that can be used to improve the efficiency of project.
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network wireless equipment
- Configuring & managing Cisco DNAC & ISE infrastructure.
- Basic understanding about Cisco MSE models.
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Identify and mitigate risk throughout the schedule.
- Conduct wireless site surveys utilizing spectrum analysis technologies, recommend and implement corrective action.
- Investigating faults in the wireless network
- Working closely with Engineering, customers, and other groups as needed to narrow implementation or Deployment efforts and build repeatable processes for future Deployment using Automation.
- Resolve incidents/problems/Changes according to established procedures
- Work on Service improvement activities and completing it within the target dates.
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
