Job Description

  • Assist in the full life cycle for all Workday implementations, including planning, design, and build phases.
  • Responsible for documentation, business requirements, system design, and transformational goals.
  • Serve as an advocate and spokesperson for all Workday initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration among all stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance Workday Information Systems Managers to develop and evolve Workday’s roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
  • Create and maintain metrics pertaining to the success of Workday initiatives.
  • Provide program leadership, governance, and change enablement.
  • Assist in creating project proposals, budgets, and workplans.
  • Manage and lead the technical team of security administrators, programmers, analysts, and report writers.
  • Provide consultation on Workday best practices and configuration of new features. Actively engage and participate in the delivery/communication of best practices/implementation of ideas.
  • Coordinate upgrades and oversee change management activities related to managing the Workday environment.
  • Ensure the technical support, training, and daily operations meet organizational needs.
  • Support a culture of service, process orientation, best practice, and cost-effective management.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Workday applications to the changing needs. Stay aware of current technology trends within and relating to Workday and evaluate their applicability to the organization's needs.
  • Represent the organization within technical communities and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the organization's Project Management Methodology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Musts:

  • Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities to keep abreast of technology changes.
  • Five years of information system and Workday HCM/Finance management experience. Strong understanding of Workday in one or more business environments (HR, Finance).
  • Experience with ERP applications and integrations with other upstream/downstream applications.
  • Previous experience translating business needs/requirements/analysis into workflows and functional specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in team development, integrations, and project management.
  • Working knowledge of Workday ERP (Financials, HCM, etc.) is required, and knowledge of Ellucian Banner, Talend, Oracle database and reporting tools, and modern programming languages is highly desired.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills, evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, able to conduct meetings and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
  • Ability to define deliverables and provide frequent updates, resulting in high-quality work products.
  • Strong capability to deliver executive-ready work products with limited guidance.
  • Skilled in taking complex ideas and creating frameworks and other approaches to clearly communicate ideas and gain support.
