Principal Engineer

The TAC Engineer will be responsible for providing front line technical support to debug complex Security issues in customer production networks, specifically in the SDWAN deployments, by troubleshooting and replicating customer issues of diverse scope.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study.

Experience

5+ years of hands on experience in the domain of Security protocols and features from a troubleshooting

standpoint

Roles and Responsibilities

 Troubleshooting network security related issues in production networks

 Replicate the customer issues in lab environment

 Work with engineering teams to replicate customer issues and test possible fixes.

 Work on problems of diverse scope

 Create knowledge articles for subordinates and other team members

 Should have a strong background in supporting Security protocols and features (knowledge of

SDWAN/SASE/SSE is a plus)

Essential Skills

 Expertise in troubleshooting network security issues (IPsec, SSL vpns, Authentication, Captive portal,

AV, IPS, Radius, ACLs, Web Proxy, DNS Proxy and all aspects of Cloud security)

 Should have a good understanding of CA-certs, CA-chain, with exposure to troubleshooting SSL

VPNs and SSL forward proxy

 Knowledge of Routing/Switching, specifically OSPF & BGP, is a plus

 Should have worked on IDP/IPS features (AV/Vulnerability/ip-filtering/File-filtering)

 Should have a good understanding of URL filtering, Application identification, URL

reputation/categorization

 Good understanding troubleshooting data/user authentication implementations

 Knowledge of CASB, ZTNA and UEBA is a plus

 Understanding of SDWAN deployments is a plus

 Should have worked on troubleshooting Firewall issues, Stateful Firewalls

 Good understanding of troubleshooting various NATTING deployments

 A good understanding of Radius/TACACS, LDAP and SAML authentication is a plus

 Basic understanding of hardware level troubleshooting and system level troubleshooting is a plus

 Should have exposure to TAC/Support environments.

 Scripting (bash/python/perl) knowledge is a plus.

 Cloud computing (AWS/Azure/GCP deployments) is a plus.

 Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environment is a plus

 Good understanding of Virtualization and related technologies is a plus

Desired Skills

 Experience in troubleshooting complex networking and security related issues in

production deployments.

 The Ideal candidate will be an individual contributor, who is a self-starter, with excellent

interpersonal, communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

 Should be able to handle calls with the production customers while troubleshooting their network

issues.

 Prior experience of working with TAC environment will be a plus.

 Demonstrate an aptitude and appetite for learning new technologies, evidenced by the ability to

expand upon core knowledge.
